Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost?

The service is free.

Do you make money off the Ticketmaster links?

No, they are provided as a service to crew just like the rest of the site.

Why do I have to make my calendar public? Can anyone see it?

Apple’s “public calendar” feature makes your calendar readable via a long, randomly generated URL — something like https://p12-caldav.icloud.com/published/2/MToxMjM0NTY3ODkwMTIzNDU2Nzg5MDEyMzQ1Njc4OTAxMjM0NTY3ODkwMTIzNDU2Nzg5MDEyMzQ1Njc4OTA. It’s not searchable, not listed anywhere, and not connected to your name or Apple ID. The only way someone finds it is if you hand it to them directly. CrewWX uses this URL to read your trip schedule and never shares it. If you’re ever concerned, you can turn off public sharing in the Calendar app and generate a fresh link — just update it at crewwx.com/update and we’ll use the new one going forward.

When will I receive alerts?

Alerts are sent at 4:00 AM Eastern every morning, starting however many days before your trip you selected at signup (default: 3 days) through the last day of travel. Any changes to your calendar lead to a new updated email within 10 minutes. You can adjust the timing at crewwx.com/update.

What airports are supported?

CrewWX supports hundreds of US airports and many international destinations across the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central America. If you're seeing a generic city photo or missing forecast for a destination, email us the airport code and we'll add it.

What is "Home Airport" — is that my domicile?

No — it's where you live, not your crew base. Enter the commercial airport closest to your home (e.g., DEN, CHA, EYW). At the end of each trip your email will include a forecast for home.

How do I update my settings (home airport, calendar URL, email, etc.)?

All settings are self-service: name, email address, home airport, calendar URL, and alert timing. Visit crewwx.com/update, enter your current email address, and we’ll send you a secure link good for 24 hours.

How do I unsubscribe?

Click the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of any alert email. You can also email [email protected] and we'll remove you, but it may take 24-48 hours for processing.

Why didn't I get an alert for my trip?

First, confirm the trip is showing up on your iCloud calendar — if CrewHub hasn't synced it yet, CrewWX won't see it either. Also verify your iCloud calendar URL is still active; Apple occasionally resets these when you update your iCloud password. If the URL has changed, submit the new one at crewwx.com/update.

The forecasts at the end of the trip are blank.

Our current weather provider only forecasts 5 days out. On longer trips, the final city or two may not have data yet when the email goes out. No action needed — the forecast will appear automatically once that day falls within the 5-day window.

The weather in my email looks wrong.

Our current weather forecasts come from OpenWeatherMap's 5-day forecast. If a city name is ambiguous (e.g., "Springfield"), the first result from their geocoding may not be the right city. Email us the airport code and we can look into it.
